Fabian Delph Signs New Contract

March 2011- Fabian Delph has signed a new four year contract with Aston Villa that will keep him at the Midlands club till 2015.

The contract is an improvement on the previous one Villa had with Delph, who signed for the club in the summer of 2009.

Villa manager Gerard Houllier expressed happiness at tying Delph to a long term deal at Villa Park. [Read more →]

Fabian Delph starts against Tottenham

Gerard Houllier has decided to start Fabian Delph against Tottenham in midfield in the Boxing Day fixture between Villa and their London opponents.

Delph starts in midfield ahead of Nigel Reo Coker.

Delph wants to be included in squad for Wigan game

Fabian Delph is keen to be included in Villa’s squad to take on Wigan Athletic on December 18, 2010.

Villa assistant manager Gary McAllister said that Delph, who is close to completing his rehabilitation from injury, has asked to be included in Villa’s squad for the trip to the DW Stadium. [Read more →]

Fabian Delph injury update- to return in January 2011

Here is an update on Fabian Delph’s cruciate ligament injury. Delph has been sidelined since April 2010 because of the injury but doctors at Aston Villa have said that the young midfielder could make a return in January 2011.

Delph is currently in the United States where he is undergoing a specialist rehabilitation programme.

Fabian Delph goal against Brighton & Hove Albion

Here is a Youtube video of Fabian Delph’s stunning goal for Leeds United against Brighton.

Delph takes the ball from his own half, runs into the other half of the pitch, and smashes one left footed past Seagulls keeper John Sullivan.

The game took place on 17 January 2009.
