Fabian Delph’s Manchester City have won the League Cup for the third time in five years, clinching the 2017/18 edition with a clinical 3-0 win over Arsenal in front of over 85,000 at Wembley. This trophy is therefore Delph’s second League Cup win since his arrival at the Etihad and Pep Guardiola’s first major one since taking over the reins of the club.
Arsenal were poor, especially in the second half, and their big stars like Aubameyang, Ozil and co. failed to rise to the occasion.
City’s goals came through Sergio Aguero in the first half, and Vincent Kompany and David Silva after the interval.
City could inflict more agony on the Gunners if they beat them in the league in midweek- the second clash between the two teams in the space of a few days.
